Before the license

An entrepreneur's road to real estate

Some agents come to real estate from sales. Eric came to it from ownership. Over an entrepreneurial career he has run a tavern, flipped houses, bought and worked off-grid acreage, invested in vineyard property, and operated short-term rentals on the north coast.

Every one of those ventures taught the same subject from a different angle: what property is actually worth, what it costs to hold, and what it takes to make it produce. When he finally took the license, the education was already decades deep.

Today Eric practices across the three territories of his own life — San Francisco, where he lives in the Sunset and works from Hyde Street; Marin, where he has owned and renovated; and the Mendocino Coast, where he keeps a small place to this day. It's a rare footprint held together by one idea: never represent a kind of property you haven't personally owned, run, or repaired.
